Diese Art der Spiele erlauben es den Nutzer/innen, neben der Auslebung sozialer Motive vor allem im Jugendalter stark ausgeprägte Bedürfnisse zu befriedigen: Action-Adventures und Shooter bieten z.B. Gelegenheiten, Spannung und Nervenkitzel sowie aufregende negative Gefühle wie Angst und Ekel gefahrfrei zu erleben.
