Abstract

The road accidents and the fatalities are increasing day by day. Negligence in driving and the defiance of traffic rules are causing these accidents. Smarter vehicles embedded with sensors can alert the driver from violating the road traffic regulations and ensure a safe driving. In this paper, we present a smart vehicle that will only allow an undrunk driver to operate the vehicle. The vehicle is also designed to automatically detect the different traffic zones and thereby take appropriate control actions in speed and sounding the horn. An automatic collision notification with a real time tracking is also incorporated in the vehicle. The designed prototype is experimented in different traffic zones and conditions.
