Potential Reservoir Candidates for the Construction of UGS Facilities in the Circum-Bohai Sea Region

Abstract

In this chapter, more than 100 reservoir targets are introduced from the perspectives of location, stratigraphic sequence, lithology, burial depth, and reserve scale. The Dagang oil region in Tianjin City contains 60 small fault-block gas reservoirs, 9 of which have already been converted into gas storage facilities, and there is still some potential for further exploration. The Huabei oilfield in Hebei Province contains 24 proven gas reservoirs, which are mainly located in buried mountains. Of these 24 reservoirs, 9 have been converted into gas storage facilities. More than 30 gas reservoirs, which are mainly composed of Paleogene sandstone, have been discovered in the Shengli Oil Field in Shandong Province. None of these reservoirs have been converted into gas storage facilities, so this area contains huge resources for subsequent construction. In addition, the Jidong oil field, which is located east of Beijing, contains five favorable reservoir candidates for gas storage construction.
