Abstract
In this chapter, 36 reservoir targets are described, including their locations, stratigraphic sequences, lithologies, burial depths, and reserve scales. The Daqing oil region is China’s largest oil production base and contains 3 volcanic reservoirs and 19 sandstone reservoirs. The Jilin oil region is situated across the river from the Daqing oilfield and contains seven proven gas reservoirs, including the Changling and Shuangtuozi reservoirs. The Liaohe oil region contains 29 gas fields with average unit reserves of only 1.43 × 108 m3. The Yangtze River Delta region contains three proven gas cap oil reservoirs, i.e., the Zhouzhuang, Yongan, and Xiaoliuzhuang reservoirs, which are located in Jiangsu Province. There are only small oil and gas reservoirs in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces. These small oil and gas reservoirs may also become gas storage site resources in the future after the improvement of the natural gas pipeline networks.
