Abstract
The Wen96 gas reservoir includes two sets of oil and gas formations, with reservoir depths of 2330–2670 m, sand under a two-layered edge water gas reservoir, sand in the third gas cap reservoir with an oil ring, a normal temperature and normal pressure gas reservoir system, a low condensate gas reservoir, a gas reservoir without active edge water, a gas bearing area of 1.5 km2, geological natural gas reserves of 9.30 × 108 m3, and geological condensate oil reserves of 6.0 × 104 t. The designed operating pressure for the Wen96 gas storage is 12.9–27 MPa, the storage capacity is 5.9 × 108 m3, the working gas volume is 3.0 × 108 m3, the maximum daily gas injection capacity is 200 × 104 m3, and the maximum daily gas production capacity is 500 × 104 m3. The Wen96 gas storage was put into operation in September 2012. By March 2018, it had gone through five injection and production cycles, including 8.52 × 108 m3 of gas injection, 4.99 × 108 m3 of gas production, and 39 emergency gas injection cycles. The maximum daily gas injection volume was 200 × 104 m3, and the maximum daily gas production volume was 300 × 104 m3. The Wen96 gas storage has played an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Yuji pipeline, the peak shaving of the natural gas market, and emergency energy shortage response.
