Zusammenfassung
Spongiose ist definiert als ein interzelluläres Ödem von Epidermis und/oder Adnexepithel, was histomorphologisch zu einer Erweiterung der Interzellularräume und nach Ruptur desmosomaler Verbindungen zwischen Keratozyten zu intraepithelialen Bläschen führt. Jedes Entzündungsinfiltrat, das sich auf Epidermis und/oder Adnexepithel erstreckt, geht mit einer mehr oder minder ausgeprägten Spongiose einher, die jedoch bei einigen Erkrankungen im Vordergrund steht.
