Zusammenfassung
Der Beitrag diskutiert die Bedeutung quantitativer Methoden für die Erforschung des informellen Lernens und geht auf die Besonderheit der deduktiven Forschungslogik ein. So erfordert die quantitative Erforschung informellen Lernens zwei vorbereitende Schritte: (1) Die theoriebasierte Beschreibung des Konstrukts „informelles Lernen“ und dessen Bestandteile und (2) die Operationalisierung, die Validität und Reliabilität einer Messung berücksichtigen muss; Diese beiden Schritte erlauben es, geeignete Bedingungen zu identifizieren und zu erzeugen, in denen sich informelles Lernen beobachten und mit zuvor definierten Instrumenten messen lässt. Ziel der deduktiven Forschungslogik sind Aussagen darüber, welche Bedingungen informelles Lernen (ursächlich) fördern. In diesem Beitrag werden praxisnahe Methoden zur Messung informellen Lernens vorgestellt und ihre Bedeutung für die Erforschung informellen Lernens diskutiert. Als Fazit wird die methodische Vielfalt als wichtige Voraussetzung für gültige und praxisrelevante Ergebnisse diskutiert.
