Zusammenfassung
Das erste veröffentlichte Gedicht des Autors, das 205 Verse lange „Les Pâques à New York“, 1912 („Ostern in New York“), entstand während einer einzigen Nacht in dieser Metropole der Moderne. Es demonstriert bereits, dass die Reimbildung dem gewaltigen Impuls, der in fast jeder Zeile des Gedichts schlägt, nicht standzuhalten vermag.
