Introduction
NEPAD is an African Union (AU) creation that was birthed with the initial mandate to eradicate poverty; promote sustainable growth and development; integrate Africa in the world economy; and accelerate the empowerment of women. Over time, this mandate has been modified to align with agendas 2030 and 2063 (AUDA-NEPAD 2021).
