Definitions

Bioenergy is energy derived from the transformation of solid, liquid, and gaseous products derived from biomass. According to the National Reporting to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which follows the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change guidelines, “total CO2 emissions” is defined. CO2 emissions/removals from land use, land-use change, and forestry are often known with much less confidence than emissions in other sectors.
