Abstract
This chapter identifies a range of protective and preventative strategies that can be utilized to diminish the prevalence of suicide. These include improved mental health access and treatment, the active development and facilitation of social and emotional support mechanisms, and the promotion of positive health-related behavior. There should also be increased research and policy attention to prevention and protection against suicide-related ideation and action.
