Abstract
Vertebral insufficiency fractures are most commonly caused by osteoporosis, trauma, or underlying malignancy. Differentiating benign and malignant compression fractures can present a diagnostic dilemma. Bone SPECT/CT provides a comprehensive assessment of the metabolic and morphologic features of the collapsed vertebral body. This chapter discusses and illustrates the signs on bone SPECT/CT of benign vertebral compression fractures.
