A mathematical technique commonly used to assess mortality in insecticide trials when there is need to correct for a change (decrease) in the background population density (i.e., in the check or control plots). The formula is:% corrected control = 100 × (% alive in the check % alive in the treatment)/(% alive in the treatment)
