Keratosis nigricans.
Definition
Accompanies obesity, diabetes mellitus, excess corticosteroids, genetic mutations, evironmental factors nicotinic acid, estrogens, corticosteroid, tumors: adenocarcinoma, pineal tumors, amongst other pathology. A brown thickening of skin which may progress to a leathery, warty or papillomatous appearance do to papillary hypertrophy, hyperkeratosis, and increased epidermal melanocytes. Most common sites are the axillae and flexural surfaces of the neck, groin, belt line, dorsum of the fingers, mouth, peri areolae and umbilicus.
