Abstract
Faunistic and cultural diversity reflects the range of interactions between people and animals, and thus provides numerous opportunities for ethnozoological research. However, there are several challenges associated with the development of this type of research program, which may deter researchers who are interested in the area. In this chapter we discuss the methodological challenges and difficulties commonly associated with conducting ethnozoological research, with an emphasis on the context of Brazil, and point out potential suggestions on how such difficulties can be minimized.
