Abstract
Very often a specialist of sports medicine is asked for the aerobic capacity of young athletes as well as a pediatrician is asked for the capacity of ill youth. To answer these questions it is necessary to perform an ergometry beside a medical history and clinical investigation. The following article describes the indications and contraindications from the pediatric point of view as well as the specials in performing and interpretating the ergometry in children and adolescents.
