New quality criteria for holographic particle images are suggested. The application of the boundary contrast and boundary brightness jump as the most reasonable criteria is substantiated. Special features of these criteria are investigated with application to holography of particles of various shapes. Numerical values of these criteria are given. The expediency of application of these criteria is demonstrated on the example of investigating the informational content of intensity distributions in the plane of in-line hologram recording.
