Abstract
We define the notion of separability and entanglement for a particle with spin s = 1. We consider two cases: the particle is composed of two fermions with s 1 = 1/2 and s 2 = 1/2, and the qutrit state, which is not a composite system. We introduce the notion of negativity and concurrence for the qutrit state and determine the concurrence and negativity of entangled and separable qutrit states through the parameters of the density matrix using explicit calculations. The maximum entanglement of the qutrit state is observed for maximum values of nondiagonal matrix elements of the density matrix. We obtain new entropic inequalities for the density matrix of the qutrit state.
