Abstract
There is good experimental evidence that in random metal-insulator mixtures, percolation processes determine the critical metal volume fraction at the conductance threshold, the behaviour of the conduction above the threshold and that of the dielectric constant below the threshold. In the superconducting state, the critical current density is determined by the percolation correlation length. Other properties are sensitive to the clusters topology. Application of percolation to other systems is also discussed.
