Summary

The paper discusses the use of in-plane moiré, shadow (or projection) moiré, and laser speckle techniques of displacement and strain measurements on metal surfaces. Both in-plane and out-of-plane deformation can be obtained. Examples include elastic and plastic deformations and metal forming problems.
