Zusammenfassung
Der Unterkiefer der Reptilien besteht aus sieben Elementen, jener der Säugetiere nur aus einem Knochen, dem Dentale. Bei den Dryolestidae und Paurodontidae (Pantotheria, Mammalia) aus dem Kimmeridgien der Braunkohlengrube Guimarota bei Leiria in Portugal kann jedoch am Dentale die Suturfläche für ein rudimentäres Coronoid nachgewiesen werden. In diesem Punkt entsprechen die im übrigen fortschrittlichen Pantotheria nicht der Definition der Säugetiere.
Summary
The lower jaw of reptiles consists of seven elements, while in mammals it is a single bone, the dentary. But in Dryolestidae and Paurodontidae (Pantotheria, Mammalia) of the Kimmeridgian from the lignite-mine Guimarota near Leiria in Portugal on the dentary a sutural surface for a rudimentary coronoid can be proved. In this point the otherwise progressive Pantotheria do not appropiate to the definition of the mammals.

La mâchoire inférieure des reptiles est composée de sept éléments, celle des mammifères seulement d'un os, le dentaire. Les Dryolestidae et Paurodontidae (Pantotheria, Mammalia) du Kimméridgien de la mine de lignite Guimarota près de Leiria au Portugal présentent cependant sur le dentaire une surface suturale pour un coronoide rudimentaire. En ce point les Pantothériens par ailleurs progressifs ne correspondent pas à la définition des mammifères.
