Abstract
The presence of various flavonoids, naphthodianthrones and phloroglucinol derivatives was studied in the natural pentaploid hybridH. maculatum Crantz subsp.maculatum × H. perforatum L. The hybrid taxon was shown to have secondary metabolites in common with both putative parents thus confirming its parentage. Morphological and nomenclatural questions are briefly discussed.
