Zusammenfassung
Pyrophosphat in so kleinen Mengen wie 10−5 M erhöht wesentlich die minimale Konzentration von Calcium und Oxalat, welche zur Kristallbildung von Calciumoxalat nötig ist. Man kann daraus schliessen, dass das im Harn vorhandene Pyrophosphat durch seine kristallisationshemmende Eigenschaft zur Erklärung der urinären Übersättigung an Calcium und Oxalat beiträgt. Da es auch die Bildung von Calciumphosphat hemmt, vermuten wir, dass ihm eine wichtige Rolle in der Pathophysiologie der Urolithiase zukommt.
