Summary
Gibberellic acid (10−6 g GA3/ml) present in the medium during 48 hours of irradiation with blue light completely inhibited anthocyanin production inHaplopappus cultures and PAL activity was 60% lower by this treatment. In the dark only a 35% inhibition of the enzyme was found. Compared to untreated controls synthesis of phenylpropane derivates after addition of GA3 showed a 40% inhibition in the blue light irradiated cultures and a 5% lower level in the cultures kept in the dark.
