Summary
Terpolyesters of 3-hydroxybutyrate (3HB), 4-hydroxybutyrate (4HB) and 3-hydroxyvarelate (3HV) were produced byPseudomonas acidovorans in nitrogen-free culture solutions of 1,4-butanediol and pentanol. When 1,4-butanediol was used as the sole carbon source, a polyester with an unusually high 4HB fraction of 99 mol% was produced.
