Conclusions
-
1.
The lifetimes with respect to the autoejection of an electron for negative molecular ions in binary and more complicated resonances and their dependence on the energy have been measured for 16 azo- and azoxybenzene derivatives.
-
2.
The relation of the lifetime to the displacement of the terms, the frequencies of the active vibrations, and other characteristics of the molecule has been established.
-
3.
Only some of the vibrational degrees of freedom participate in the process of the relaxation of the energy in negative molecular ions during times shorter than 10−6 sec.
