Abstract
Bi2O2Se crystallizes in the (Na0.25Bi0.75)2O2Cl type structure (space group I4mmm−D 174h ;a=3.891 Å,c=12.213 Å). The crystal chemical properties of the bismuth oxiselenide are discussed in connection with the other compounds having this structure type.
