Abstract
The system of superimposing oxide maps over the ternary phase diagram in order to select oxidation resistant compositions has been used to select a Co-Cr-Al base alloy. It is suggested that a Co-10Cr-9Al alloy is suitable for the temperatures of 1100–1200° C and may be strengthened by the addition of rare earth oxides for dispersion hardening.
