Abstract
Alveolate vesicles in the anterior regions ofEuglena gracilis are shown to function in pinocytosis, being capable of incorporating exogenous horseradish peroxidase through the reservoir wall. It is thought that this represents a mechanism for recovering large molecules otherwise lost during contractile vacuole discharge.
