Abstract
An analysis of labelled centromere regions of chromosomes in metaphase cells of the Swamp Wallaby (Wallabia bicolor) demonstrates conclusively that chromatids do not co-segregate in sets which contain DNA template strands of identical age. Also, there is no tendency for chromatids of homologous chromosome pairs to distribute non-randomly. The data are consistent with the assumption of random distribution of chromatids at mitosis.
