Abstract
Tests were conducted to determine the effects of cadmium on leg regeneration in larvae of the Northwestern salamander, Ambystoma gracile. Cadmium significantly affected limb regrowth (LOAEL=lowest observed adverse effect level) at 193.1 μg/L in a 24-day test and at 44.6 μg/L in a 10-day test. There were no significant adverse effects (NOAEL=no observed adverse effects level) at 48.9 μg/L in 24-day and 12.8 μg/L in 10-day tests.
