Abstract
Many coronal transient exhibit a circular aspect, which has been interpreted up to now as a loop structure. From polarization measurements of the 10 August, 1973 transient observed by the ATM coronagraph, which allows the location of material away from the plane of the sky, we show that this particular transient is more likely to be a 3-dimensional, bubble-shaped structure, than a loop. The radial component of the speed is evaluated. A thin streamer close to the transient is displaced by its passage, both in the plane of the sky and in the direction perpendicular to it.
