Abstract
Although nitrogen 15 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy appears to be very useful for investigating structures of nitrogen containing molecules, the low natural abundance and unfavourable sensitivity of the nitrogen 15 nucleus have limited its application. These disadvantages can be overcome by NMR pulse techniques, large volume probes or enrichment of the nitrogen 15 isotope. Especially for biological molecules enrichment of the isotope seems to be necessary, since in most cases there is not much material available.
