Abstract
Adverse ocular side-effects in man, due to therapeutic agents, have received considerable attention and are widely reported1−4. The profusion of reports may give a disproportionate view of selective organ toxicity. In practice histopathologically detectable changes in the eyes are relatively rare in animal safety evaluation studies, although there is evidence of species variation and susceptibility, probably resulting from differences in metabolism4.
