Abstract
Geothermal data are commonly shown on maps, usually as the final step of the data acquisition or data compilation. The term geothermal map means the maps displaying the local, regional or global pattern of temperature, temperature gradient, heat-flow density, as well as the maps presenting the distribution of geothermal energy resources and reserves. Together with the geothermal field under consideration, the selected geological, tectonic, hydrogeological and other features are often given in the map as the background (supplementary) information. Geothermal maps may be of different scale, area coverage, isoline interval, projection, size, etc. depending on the purpose for which the particular map will be constructed.
