Abstract
Postnatal linear growth can be described in terms of three distinct phases: the nutrition-dependent infancy phase, the growth-hormone-dependent childhood phase and puberty, with the additional growth during adolescence which is driven by sex steroids (1). The main objective of this work was to evaluate the importance of nutrition in the linear growth seen during childhood, i.e. from 2 years of age to the onset of puberty.
