Zusammenfassung
Zur Steigerung der Dienstleistungsproduktivität gibt es eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten, die sich jedoch in Abhängigkeit von der jeweiligen Sichtweise unterscheiden. Sichtweisen sind z.B. die des Vertriebs, des Personalmanagements, der Prozessgestaltung und des Technologieeinsatzes. Insbesondere die Geschäftsprozesssicht gewinnt immer mehr an Bedeutung, die aus einer Analogie mit der Biologie deutlich werden mag. Danach können Prozesse als die DNS (Desoxyribonukleinsäure) der Unternehmen betrachtet werden. Bestimmte Abschnitte der biologischen DNS, die Gene, enthalten Erbinformationen. In Unternehmen sind diese Informationen in den Geschäftsprozessen enthalten. Sie bilden die Grundlage, damit das gesamte Unternehmen – der Organismus – funktionieren kann und ermöglichen damit die Umsetzung des jeweiligen Geschäftsmodells. In Geschäftsprozessen findet also nicht nur die Leistungserstellung in Unternehmen statt (Zairi 1997), sondern sie enthalten auch das Wissen darüber, wie diese Leistungen in einem Unternehmen erbracht werden.
