Abstract
Subtentorial operation is performed primarily for pathological processes in the posterior cranial fossa or for functional neurosurgical interventions on structures lying in the posterior fossa. The method of choice, both as regards surgical technique and the anaesthesia, is determined by the location of the structure to be operated on. The following classification is suggested:
