Zusammenfassung
Als Punk vor 40 Jahren auf der Bildfläche erschien, waren es insbesondere das provokante Auftreten, der besondere Style sowie der wütende und eingängige Musikstil, die für viel Aufmerksamkeit in Medien und Öffentlichkeit sorgten. In der Wissenschaft wurde das Widerspenstige dieser Subkultur insbesondere über die symbolische und die ideologische Ebene zu fassen versucht, wobei natürlich die Arbeiten der cultural studies wegweisend waren (vgl. Clarke et al. 1979; Hebdige 1979).
