Zusammenfassung

Die Arbeitslosigkeit in Deutschland ist in den letzten Jahren zwar gesunken, aber keineswegs verschwunden. Für die Betroffenen hat Arbeitslosigkeit langfristige negative Auswirkungen auf Einkommen, subjektive Befindlichkeit und (wahrgenommenen) sozialen Anschluss. Das Kapitel behandelt zunächst die Messung, Definition und Erfassung von Arbeitslosigkeit. Im zweiten Schritt stellt es Zusammenhänge zwischen den Strukturen des Arbeitsmarktes und Arbeitslosigkeit, Arbeitslosigkeit auf der Ebene individueller Erwerbsverläufe und Folgen von Arbeitslosigkeit für die Betroffenen dar. Abschließend werden ausgewählte Daten und Forschungsergebnisse präsentiert.
