Abstract
The automated analysis of technical documents is a problem which has been worked on for several years [19, 37, 16, 18], in many kinds of applications, including flow charts [1], mechanical engineering [8, 23], city maps (plats) [17, 27, 31], electrical circuitry [22, 13], hand-drawn figures [30] and geographical maps [38].
