Wie aus zahlreichen Untersuchungen hervorgeht, ist die Kenntnis persönlichkeitsbedingter Dispositionen bei affektiven Erkrankungen u.a. unter dem Aspekt von Krankheitserklärung, Verlaufsdiagnose und therapeutischem Handeln von Bedeutung (Chodoff 1972; Tellenbach 1977; von Zerssen 1977 a; Hirschfeld u. Cross 1982; Akiskal et al. 1983).
