Zusammenfassung

Noch am Ende des letzten Jahrhunderts war die Extrauteringravidität mit einer hohen Mortalität verbunden. In einer 1876 von Parry u. Lea publizierten Arbeit betrug die Mortalitätsrate 69% (529 Fälle). Die meist notfallmäßig durchgeführte Salpingektomie stellte sich als eine absolut notwendige, lebensrettende Maßnahme dar. Tait berichtete 1884 über eine Serie von 38 Fällen mit einer Extrauteringravidität. Nach einer Salpingektomie wurden lediglich noch 2 mütterliche Todesfälle beobachtet (5%). Die Salpingektomie war somit als Standardbehandlung eingeführt.
