Zusammenfassung
Kern des folgenden Beitrags zu Roger Silverstone ist ein Ansatz aus der Medienaneignungsforschung: die Domestizierung von Medien und Technologien. Dieser Ansatz unterstreicht nicht nur die Prozesshaftigkeit und Komplexität der Aneignung, sondern hebt insbesondere die Materialität der Medien als Objekte hervor. Ein weiterer Fokus liegt auf der Alltagsbezogenheit und dem Konsum von Medien und Medientechnologien. Zudem unterstreicht er immer wieder die Bedeutung der verschiedenen Kontexte (kulturell, situativ, sozial, etc.) von Mediennutzung für deren je verschiedene Ausprägung und für unser Verständnis derselben (das ebenfalls kontextualisiert ist).
