Zusammenfassung
Der Ausdruck παρῳδία (parodía) ist seit dem Ende des 5. Jh. v. Chr. belegt. Aristoteles erwähnt in seiner Poetik (ca. 335 v. Chr.) die Parodie nur beiläufig als Nachahmung ›schlechterer Charaktere‹. Allerdings trägt seine Anwendung des Wortes parodía auf die Werke der Dichter Hegemon und Nikochares [1448a] maßgeblich zur Bestimmung des Parodie-Begriffs bei: Ihre Werke ahmen nämlich die Form des heroischen Epos nach – bei gleichzeitiger Veränderung des Inhalts, so dass das nachgeahmte Epos »auf eine komische Weise umfunktioniert« (Rose 2006, 1) wird.
