Zusammenfassung
Was soziale Gerechtigkeit ist und welcher Stellenwert dem Begriff innerhalb der Gerechtigkeitstheorie zukommen sollte, ist sehr umstritten. Selbst der Gegenstand der sozialen Gerechtigkeit variiert mit dem Kontext, in dem von ihr die Rede ist. Wird sie im politischen Alltagsdiskurs oft mit einer gerechten Verteilung der Einkommen, Vermögen und Steuerlasten der Gesellschaftsmitglieder gleichgesetzt, besteht in der Fachliteratur die Tendenz, sie in einem weiten Sinn als die Gesamtheit der für ganze Gesellschaften geltenden Gerechtigkeitserfordernisse zu verstehen.
