Zusammenfassung
Netzwerke spielen heute im Berufsleben eine wichtige Rolle. Darauf lässt die Vielzahl von Karriereratgebern schließen, die Ratschläge zum Aufbau und zur Pflege von Netzwerkbeziehungen erteilen. Dabei wird mit Netzwerk zumeist der Personenkreis bezeichnet, zu dem ein direkter Kontakt besteht. Eine Netzwerkperspektive in Bezug auf Karrierechancen geht jedoch von einem spezifischeren Netzwerkbegriff aus. Hier werden zudem die Muster betrachtet, mit denen die Netzwerkkontakte miteinander verbunden sind, es werden die Inhalte spezifiziert, die in den Netzwerkbeziehungen ausgetauscht werden. Zusätzlich wird oft die Einbettung des persönlichen Kontaktnetzwerkes in die Gesamtstruktur der Interaktionsbeziehungen innerhalb der Firma analysiert. Eine solche Perspektive kann aufzeigen, dass unterschiedliche Gruppierungen verschiedene Netzwerke aufweisen. Darüber hinaus wird deutlich, dass dieselben Netzwerke nicht für alle Gruppierungen einer Organisation dieselben Konsequenzen haben.
