Abstract
Scleroderma is a rare connective tissue disorder of unknown etiology in which increased collagen deposition occurs and results in sclerosis of the skin and subcutaneous tissue (with dermal atrophy), often affecting the underlying muscle and bone (Sampaio et al. 2006). Involvement may be diffuse (systemic sclerosis, which is a multisystem disease) or localized to the skin (localized scleroderma or morphoea) (Holland et al. 2006, Sampaio et al. 2006)
