Abstract
Over the years, many insect pests, plant pathogens, and weed species have invaded agricultural and forest ecosystems in the United States. Once established, they have significantly reduced crop and forest productivity, despite treatments with pesticides and the presence of natural enemies (Pimentel 1983).
