Neurocritical Care through History

Participating journal: Neurocritical Care
The first neurological intensive care unit was created at the beginning of the 20th century, although modern Neurocritical Care began to develop in the 1980s and Neurocritical Care was recognized as a neurological subspecialty in 2005. Nevertheless many dedicated physicians over the centuries participated in the work that led to the current standard of care and their efforts deserve the respect of all of us. These papers explore pioneers, innovations and pitfalls that led to modern Neurocritical Care discipline. Please note: all submissions will be evaluated for relevance to the “Neurocritical Care Through History” theme and undergo a regular peer review process.
